COOKIE POLICY

Effective date: 2 October 2025

Website:https://vertera.eu (and related pages)
Controller / Operator: Vertera OÜ (Estonian Commercial Register / Äriregister) — Reg. No. 14137122, VAT No. EE101948883, address: Parda 3, 10151 Tallinn, Estonia;
e-mail:  vertera.estonia@gmail.com

1. Scope and relation to the Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels/tags, SDKs, device identifiers) on the Website. For personal-data processing (purposes, rights, transfers) see our Privacy Policy. Non-cookie tracking tech is governed by the same consent rules as cookies when used for similar purposes.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. They can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by others), session (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (stored for a defined period).

3. Legal bases (EU ePrivacy + GDPR)

  • Strictly necessary cookies may be placed without consent to provide a service you request (e.g., login, basket, checkout, security).
  • All other categories (preferences, analytics, advertising/social) require your prior, freely given, specific and informed consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
  • Processing of strictly necessary cookies relies on contract performance or our legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional site.

4. Categories and purposes

4.1 Strictly necessary (no consent)

Session continuity, authentication, basket/checkout, load balancing, availability/routing, fraud prevention & security (e.g., CSRF), consent storage (record of your cookie choices). If disabled, the Website cannot function properly.

4.2 Preferences

Remember language/region/currency, UI choices, extended consent preferences beyond the CMP record.

4.3 Analytics (consent)

Measure usage, diagnose errors, improve content and UX, build aggregated statistics (page views, conversions). We configure analytics with data minimisation (e.g., IP truncation/anonymisation) where possible.

4.4 Advertising & social media (consent)

Serve/measure ads, frequency capping, build/use audiences, personalise content, enable social plugins/sharing. Third parties may combine data across sites according to their policies.

5. What exactly is used and how long

The up-to-date list (cookie name, provider, purpose, duration, type) is always available in the cookie banner / consent manager (“Manage cookies”). Typical durations:

  • Strictly necessary: session and up to 12 months (selected security/consent cookies).
  • Preferences: up to 12 months.
  • Analytics: up to 13 months.
  • Advertising: up to 13 months.
If a service needs a longer period, the consent manager will disclose it.

6. Managing cookies — your choices

  • Banner / consent manager. On first visit you can Accept all, Reject all, or Save selection with equal prominence for non-essential categories. Change choices any time via a persistent “Manage cookies” link in the footer.
  • Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser (may affect functionality for strictly necessary cookies).
  • Mobile identifiers. Reset/limit advertising IDs in device settings (e.g., IDFA/AAID).
  • Do Not Track. No industry standard; please use the consent tool and browser controls.
Withdrawing consent does not affect lawfulness before withdrawal.

7. Third-party cookies, roles and transfers

We may use third-party providers for analytics, advertising, social plugins, performance and security. Some act as independent controllers for their own purposes. Details and links to their notices are in the consent manager. If data are processed outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU SCCs); see our Privacy Policy for more.

8. Children

The Website is not directed to children below the age of digital consent in their country (13 in Estonia). We do not knowingly place non-essential cookies in services directed to children.

9. Proof of consent & re-consent

We store a minimal record of your consent (date/time, categories chosen, source) to demonstrate compliance. We will ask again if we materially change vendors/purposes or when the consent period expires.

10. No cookie walls

Access to the Website is not conditioned on consenting to non-essential cookies.

11. Updates

We may update this Policy; the effective date shows the current version. Material changes or newly added partners will be highlighted in the banner or on the Website.
